Yesterday was a typical day in the office. Consulted with several patients from breast augmentation to tummy tucks. Then I saw a women interested in facial rejuvenation. She had surgery less than 2 years ago, and now wants more. Why? That is the obvious question. As I talked with her, I learned that she had undergone a “weekend” face lift procedure and was not happy with the results. She certainly was not happy about the money she spent. While examining her it become clear that she had far too much aging to correct with a limited procedure, such as the so often advertised “weekend face lifts”. These procedures, and all there variations, can be useful, if applied to the right patient. This was not her case. As a result, she is here to see me, a few years later, and clearly needs a traditional face lift procedure.
Here is the interesting part. In my experience, the recovery from a limited “weekend or mini facelift” is really not that much shorter than a traditional facelift, when compared to improvement.
So, save yourself a potential unhappy experience, and money. See a board certified plastic surgeon with a good reputation. Ignore the TV commercials, Cosmo ads, radio ads that only talk about a trademarked procedure. Know your surgeon. You will be glad you did your homework.
