Plenty of fresh fruits! Now that the kids are home from school, and it is that time of the year again for swimming, enjoying the out of doors with friends, you'll want to be sure to have plenty of fresh fruits on hand for snacking.
It is not only healthy, but the natural sweetness gives a bit of energy.
I eat fresh fruit everyday. I put it in my oatmeal, grab a piece of fruit for a snack, and when I was working, always took a container of fresh fruit, or a piece or two of whole fruit for eating along with my lunch or for one of my breaks.
This picture is just a small sampling of the many varieties of fruit available, and any combination for a fruit salad you can think of is going to be really good.., no sugar sprinkled on...no whipped topping...combined too with fresh greens of your choice and a light vinaigrette dressing...raspberry comes to mind, is such a light and healthy summer lunch or add grilled chicken sliced to your salad for a light dinner. Sliced mangos or peaches, great with chicken!
Iced water served with a lemon slice!
If your adding bananas to your fruit salads, add them last/before serving so they don't discolor.
Young people have the urge to grab the potato chip bags and a soda and it is so not healthy...especially if there are days playing video games, on the internet etc....those extra pounds can really add up over the summer if there is no real physical exercise!
Enjoy your summer fruits!
And doesn't this look interesting!! Cheese could be feta, goat cheese, blue cheese!
Cute to serve at a ladies luncheon!
So healthy and good for us!
